Silas Harrison Parks was the son of Reuben Parks and Mehitable Barton Parks. He was born on 19 May 1840 in Otto, Cattaraugus Cty, NY and moved with his family to Lake County, IL and later, Kenosha Cty, WI in about 1844. He was married three times: 1) to Harriett Mariah West on 20 Mar 1863 (three children, Orpha, Charles and Franklin) 2) Rosetta H. Lee on 25 Dec 1876 (no children) and 3) Mary A.E. Chastain on 20 May 1896. Silas died Chesapeake, Lawrence Cty, MO on 26 Sept 1900. He served in the Civil War with Company I, 30th Wisconsin Infantry.
