RICHARD MOORSHEAD, a resident of Sonora for over twenty-five years died on the 15th inst at his home in Oakland where he has resided the past two years, and death must have been a welcome relief to him. With an associate he conducted the city hotel here for some years, later being employed at the steam laundry. He was an upright, honorable citizen and as such was highly esteemed. A widow and three daughters are left to mourn the loss of a fond husband and parent. The daughters are Mrs N J Pickle, Miss Rita Moorshead and Miss Vinnie Moorshead, the latter being a student in the University of California. The funeral services were conducted Monday in Oakland under the auspices of the Odd Fellows, and institution on which the deceased had long held membership. The services were read by C H Burden of Sonora and J W Howard, president of the Oakland Relief Board. The body was incinerated in the Oakland crematory.
