ORTONVILLE, Minn. - Funeral services for Norel Servel Mathison, 87, Ortonville, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville with the Rev. Richard Boehnke officiating. Music will be presented by organist Sarah Miller and soloist Ann Nelson.
Burial will be in the Clinton City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joseph and Willis Stattelman, Curtis Mathison, Ralph Strand and Kim and Joel Stattelman.
Visitation will be today (Tuesday) from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Moberg-Larson Funeral Home in Clinton and Wednesday at the church prior to the services.
Norel Mathison died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999, at a Graceville hospital.
He was born Oct. 11, 1912, to Sievert and Nettie (Robertson) Mathison at Artichoke Township, Big Stone County.
He married Bernice Redfield May 20, 1938. Bernice Mathison died in 1950. He married Dorothy Arndt Clifton Feb. 27, 1952. He retired from farming in 1952.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Clinton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Becky and Randy Stattelman of Clinton and Deanna and Dewayne Holeson of Caledonia; a son, LeRoy of Beardsley; stepdaughter, Judi Perreira of Hibbing; a stepson, William and his wife, Joan Clifton of Ortonville; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Dewana Amberg of Ortonville, Miranda and Henry Redfield of Ortonville and Delyla Kraines of Minneapolis; a brother and sister-in-law, Orland and Irene Mathison of Ortonville; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
