Married John B. Burnsed, Jr. (1789-1860) in Bulloch Co., GA on 06/09/1813 (brother of William M (Burnside) Burnsed (1796 - 05/10/1863)). (Source: List of Bulloch County Marriages (1796-1850), in Statesboro, Bulloch County Courthouse, Bulloch County, Georgia). The birth and death dates are still being investigated, as well as more detail about her life and her parents. One interesting fact is that at the time of their marriage the local official recording the marriage listed his name as JOHN BURNSIDE, and it has been found to have become an often used alternate spelling of BURNSED even within the same family.
Also, the exact location of ELIZABETH SHUMAN BURNSED's grave is unknown and the grave of her husband is located outside of the ROACH CEMETERY in Bulloch County in a Brick Vault. It is not well attended, and the top slab was observed as lying on one side bearing the initials J.B.B. (For JOHN B. BURNSED).
At the time of this writing, this writer had learned JOHN B. BURNSED, JR. (1789-1860) and ELIZABETH "ELIZA" SHUMAN (1799 - ?) were the parents of at least three (3) known children, as follows:
1. FAITHIE ANN ELLEN BURNSIDE (1818-1864)
2. WILLIAM BURNSIDE (1829-1861)
3. ELIZABETH ANN BURNSED (1832-1898)
* Note the different spellings of BURNSED/BURNSIDE.
