Mona Welch, 90 years old, passed away on March 6, 2020 at Hidden Lake Care Center in Raytown, Missouri with her family by her side.
One of 9 children, Mona was born November 10,1929 in Ocie, Missouri to Charley and Dollie Myers.
Mona attended SMS in Springfield and earned her teaching certificate. She taught grades 1 through 8 in the one room school setting.
On April 2,1949, Mona was united in marriage to Conley A. Welch in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Various times found Mona and Conley out of state in Indiana, Kansas, Florida, and etc. for construction work but always returning to the area. Prior to moving to Ava, they were dairy farmers on their farm on Big Creek.
Mona loved farming, sewing and most of all her flowers and yard work.
Mona was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Conley, two sisters, Sharon Griffith and Florence Nichols, four brothers, C.H. Myers, Darrell Myers, Don Myers and Hervil Myers.
Mona is survived by her children, Janice White and husband Bill of Kansas City and Donald Welch and wife Nancy of Kirbyville, granddaughter, Angela White and grandsons, Travis Welch, Wayne Welch, Brian White, and Luke Welch, seven great grandchildren, one brother, Hershel Myers, one sister, Bonnie Copelin, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Visitation for Mona will be Thursday, March 12, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Clinkingbeard Chapel, Ava, MO. Private burial will be in the Lutie Cemetery, Theodosia, MO at a later date. Memorial contributions to Lutie Cemetery.
