Warren was the son of Ezra and Louanna Woodrum Masten. He married Ruth Hubbard in 1947 in Petersburg; she died in 2003.

Mr. Masten was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He retired as assistant site superintendent of New Salem State Park in 1995 after 35 years. He was a member of Petersburg United Methodist Church and American Legion in Tallula.

Survivors are one son, Kim Masten; one daughter, Susan Masten; two brothers, Chester (wife, Barbara) Masten and James (wife, Barbara) Masten; and four sisters, Mildred Zillion, Jeanne Wankel, Emma Pettit and Mary Reiken.
