Betty M. Ailes, 82, of Medaryville, IN, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East Hospital in Lafayette, IN. She was born on July 16, 1937 in Medaryville to the late Marion and Milda (Foust) Poisel. She graduated from Medaryville High School in 1956. On September 29, 1956, Betty married Harold L. Ailes in Medaryville. She was a devoted wife of 56 years. Betty was a proud homemaker. In her younger years, she enjoyed canning with her sisters. Betty and Harold cleaned the Medaryville Bank and Medaryville Christian Church for nearly 20 years.
Betty was a member of the Medaryville Assembly of God Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing word searches.Betty loved her children and would do anything for them. She especially loved her grandchildren. Betty will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by three daughters; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three grandchildren; and six siblings, Zelda Tetzloff, Alladene Archer, Edwin Poisel, Elmer Poisel, Walter Poisel and Bill Poisel.
