Mr. Smallwood died April 10 at Southern Pines. Born Jan. 1, 1918, he was the son of the late Joseph Hunter and Bernice Jones Smallwood. He was married to Josephine Chastain McLeod Smallwood, who preceded him in death. He was retired from the State of Florida. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Hasan Shriner and First Baptist Church.
