Barbara Anders Stevens, Grammy Barb, lost her battle with lymphoma on October 30, 2009 surrounded by family and friends. Mom and best friend to Christine and son-in-law Erin Maxon and Brian Stevens, Dale and Justin Maxon, her most cherished grandchildren, took Barb to soccer, baseball, basketball and school activities. If not playing with the boys or cheering them on she was reading to Justin or shopping with Dale on Sundays. Barb worked at the New York State Department of Tax & Finance and part time as a cleaning professional. Friday nights were for the "Racino". Born in Johnsonville on December 16, 1955 to Frank and Jean Hunziker Anders; sibling to Bobby (Roberta), Kenny (Robin), Jeff and Nancy. Barb had been the wife of Charles Stevens. Friends and family are invited to the Frank P. McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 870 Second Avenue (124th & 125th Streets) in Lansingburgh on Tuesday, November 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. Services will be held on Wednesday, November 4 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. The family wishes to thank NY Hematology and Oncology staff and especially Sid and Dr. Resta. In lieu of flowers if any one so chooses, contributions to the Johnsonville Fire Department.
