BLACKSBURG – David S. Love, 74, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005, at his home.
A native of Blacksburg, he was the husband of Lois Jackson Love and son of the late Robert Jackson Love and the late Sally Pearl Harmon Love. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, worked in textiles and was a U.S. Marine. He was a charter member of the Antioch Volunteer Fire Department from which he received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons and daughters in law, Scott and Gina Love, Mitchell and Karen Love and Rick and Carla Love; brothers, James Ted Love, Franklin Odell Love and Olin R. Love, all of Blacksburg; sisters, Gertrude L. Compton of Blacksburg, Ethel L. Ray of Belmont, Estelle L. Beam and Elizabeth L. Redmond, both of Kings Mountain, Margaret L. Carpenter of York and Sarah L. Purser of Charlotte; and grandchildren, Dustin, Tyler, Inman and Annah Love.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Love was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward H. Love and Lewis J. Love, and a sister, Rebecca L. Helms.
Services will be held at Antioch Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
