Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Bender Funeral Home for Israel Lentz, 72, father of Albert J. Lentz, first Adams Countian killed in the World War and for whom the local American Legion post is named, who died last Saturday evening at his home in Straban township. Burial was made in Friends' Grove Cemetery, near Biglerville.

Mr. Lentz was born and spent his entire life in Adams County. He was a son of of the late Samuel and Polly(Rife) Lentz.

The deceased is survived by his widow, Susanna (Guise) Lentz, and the following children: Mrs. Dolly Adams, at home; Mrs Joseph(Bertha) Butt, Gettysburg; Mrs CLarence (Rosie)Hewitt, Gettysburg; Mrs. Robert (Frances) Kennell, Gettysburg; William E. Lentz, Baltimore; and Daniel A.O. Lentz at home. Nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survives.
