John Sylvester Smith, 78, who had lived in Empire for eighteen years, died Sunday night in Keiser Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 21, 1881, in Cherokee, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Maude M., a daughter, Mrs. Charles Frohwein, both of Empire, a sister, Mrs. C.H. Funson, Cherokee; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 1 pm in the Campbell Watkins chapel. Concluding services will be at Sunset Memorial Park.
