Thank-you to the staff at Waverly Gardens for all the love & care you have given Dad, especially the "Angels" in the Memory Care Unit who have loved him through his recent years.

Edward loved people and was known for his positive, engaging personality. He hummed and whistled happy songs throughout his life, even while raising seven children.

Dr. Kelly was an orthopedic surgeon at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul where he performed the first total knee in Minnesota. In later years he refocused his practice to specialize in foot, ankle and lower leg at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He also taught at the Veteran's Administration Hospital in Minneapolis for over 30 years.

Edward proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy and during the Korean War with the U.S. Army. He was a champion sailor and Commodore of the Gull Lake Yacht Club and loved to play tennis, snow ski, take long walks, bird watch and canoe in the Boundary Waters.

He loved being the Grand Marshal for annual 4th of July parades on Gull Lake. Edward graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School where he will donate his body to research. Dad supported and loved each one of us, always providing incredible wisdom and unconditional love.

We love you to pieces…and whole, Dad!
