CATHERINE ELAINE PIPER, 78, of Falling Waters, WV, passed away early in the morning Feb. 10, 2020 at Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, WV. Catherine was born to Harold Carl Granger and Elsie Avon Sloper-Granger, Oct. 2, 1941, in Rome, NY.

She attended Camden High School, married Preston Paige Piper Sr. of North Bay, N.Y., in June 1959, and they had six children. They later moved to Falling Waters.

Catherine leaves behind a legacy of children, Preston Michael Piper, Jean Ann Piper-Day, Preston Paige Piper Jr. , Daniel Carl Piper, William Ross Piper, and Christopher Allen Piper. She also leaves to cherish her memory, siblings: Marjorie Waggoner, Darlene Stalens, Marvin and Sherry Granger, Charlotte Happle, Sylvia Smith, Debbie and Anthony McCormick, Roger and Valerie Granger, Fred and Brenda Granger, and Susan and Lee Garett; sibling’s spouse, Loren Rinehard; and grandchildren, Michele Piper-Lago and Everett, Heather Piper, Bryan and Jenelle Piper, Rebekah Piper, Daniel Piper, Stephanie and Daniel Feaster, Justin and Ashley Piper, Amber and James McCracken and Victoria Staubs.

She was preceded in death by husband, Preston Paige Piper Sr.; son, Samuel David Piper; parents, Harold Carl Granger and Elsie Avon Sloper-Granger-Ripley; stepfather, Edward Ripley; siblings, Arthur and Angela Granger, Alice and Wayne Belyea, Audrey and Tom Tucker, and Sharon Rinehard; siblings’ spouses, Billy Waggoner, Al Stalens and Joe Happle; daughter-in-law, Deborah Happle-Piper; and grandchildren, Michael Andrew Piper and Diane Piper-Butler.

Catherine requested a private memorial service which will be held at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hagerstown, Md. Arrangements have been made by Harman Funeral Home and Potomac Valley Cremation Center, Hagerstown.
