Joe was born in Somerset, KY, to Jennie (nee Smith) and David J. Reiss. The family eventually moved to Indianapolis, IN and Joe attended school there, and graduated from the Catholic high school. The family moved to Texas in 1926. Joe eventually became an independent owner of Joe Reiss Insurance Agency. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of the Kiwanis Club, and an active bowler in Houston for a number of years. He married Ada L. Pecot and they had two children, David and Joan. Survived by daughter Joan Loggins; several grandchildren, sisters: Jeanette Bay and Margaret Wimberly, several nieces and nephews. Joe passed away in Houston, Texas. A memorial service was held at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
