HALL, HENRY CLAY born on June 30, 1920, in Dallas, Texas, to parents Milton D. and Eula Jones Hall. He and his twin sister Ethel weighed a total of merely 5 pounds at birth, Henry being the smaller of the two at only 1 1 1/2 pounds. Henry passed into Eternity on Tuesday, March 4, 2014. Henry is survived by his daughter Sherry Malloy, his son-in-law Bruce Malloy and grandsons Kevin and wife Lydia Malloy of Ft. Rucker, AL, and Chris Malloy of Lincoln, NE. Henry was preceded in death by his wife Ann R. Hall, son Henry Jr., his parents, and all 7 brothers and sisters. Henry served in the Army Air Corps three years during WWII, of which half of that time was based at Churchill, Manitoba, where he was a vital part in monitoring weather stations. His experience there on Hudson Bay remained a highlight of his military duty and he was delighted to return there 50 years later with his daughter and her family. He married Annie Mae Ross on January 5, 1946, in Dallas, Texas. They made their home in the White Rock area for 24 years until moving to Lake Whitney in 1970. During the 1980’s they resided in Richardson, Texas, until building a custom-built home in Lajitas, Texas, in 1992, in the beautiful mountains of the Big Bend country. Failing health required that they move closer to their daughter Sherry and her family; and in 2006, they relocated to Del Rio, Texas. Ann passed away in July, 2012. Henry was very active during his early married years with the Masonic Lodge. He obtained the level of Worshipful Master of Edwin J. Kiest Lodge in East Dallas. He was employed by Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. from 1946 until retirement in 1983. He began his career as a lineman, quickly making line supervisor. For three years prior to retirement, Henry and only a handful of American engineers lived and worked in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, assisting in the communications installation during the construction of the International Airport. Henry will be laid to rest next to Ann, his loving wife of 66 years. Their mutual love of our national parks and beautiful scenery in general, gave them many enjoyable experiences camping, hiking and exploring. Graveside services will be held at 2:15 PM, Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Restland Memorial Park with visitation from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM prior to the service at Restland Funeral Home.
