Pauline Windon, 88 of West Milford passed away on Friday, January 10, 2020 at her residence as the result of a house fire.
She was born on May 24, 1931 in Summersville, WV, the daughter of the late Pearlie Cecil and Mae McQueen McQuain.
Pauline got her Bachelor’s in education and was a teacher for Harrison County Board of Education for 29 years. Pauline had a great love and enjoyed teaching children. She was a member of the West Milford United Methodist Church. Pauline was a recorder for the town of West Milford for years. Her passion was crocheting and was very proud of her accomplishments of having several quilts on rotating display at the WV Cultural Museum in Charleston. Pauline was co-painter of the mural on display at the West Milford City Building.
Pauline is survived by one son, Keith Windon; siblings, Albert McQuain, Louise Coffey, Ruth Holbert and John and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by two brothers, Vance McQuain and wife, Ina and Freeman McQuain and two sisters, Mildred Taylor and Clara Dillinger. She was also preceded in death by Glenda McQuain, sister-in-law and Corder Taylor and Mildred his wife.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 Noon with Pastor James Murphy presiding. Interment will follow at Harrisville IOOF Cemetery.
