Clara L. Dillinger, 85, of Palatka, died Wednesday, June 1, 2005, at Kindred Hospital in Green Cove Springs following an extended illness.

She was born July 16, 1919, in Harrisville, W.Va., to P. C. and Mae McQuain Swisher, who preceded her in death. She had been a resident of Palatka for the past 35 years and for the past 10 years at Barry Manor; coming from Miami. She attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Palatka. She could not sit long, so she chose to go to Sunday School. Her class was called the Shining Light Class, which she dearly loved and felt like they were her family. Her son, Jack, had a little dog named Cody. Everyday, the dog looked forward to take a mile long walk to go to see her. She not only looked forward to seeing Cody, she made sure she had treats for him and fresh cold water or milk. She had a lot of health problems, but now she is with the Lord and pain free. Her family will all truly miss her, and was very lucky to have had her as long as they did.

She is also preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Dillinger; and one brother, Vance McQuain.

At Mrs. Dillinger;s request, her body will be cremated. Her remains will be interred beside her husband and mother in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Harrisville, W.Va.
Masters Funeral Home in Palatka is handling arrangements.
