Mrs. Barbara Dean Taylor Rahrer, age 85 of Brentwood, TN died Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at St. Thomas Hospital West in Nashville, TN. Mrs. Rahrer was born May 26, 1934 in Nashville. TN the daughter of the late Herbert and Mary Sullivan Taylor.
Mrs. Rahrer is survived by her husband of 68 years, Malvern Rahrer. Three sons; Brad Rahrer (Kathy) of Brentwood, TN, David Rahrer (Brenda) of Lebanon, TN and Josh Rahrer of Portland, TN. Four grandchildren; Lynnsie Dement (Langdon), Tonya Pritchard (Nathan), Tammy Walpole (Sam) and Ashley Hillis (Andy). Three great grandchildren; Charlotte Kate, Jeffrey and Jordan.
Barbara was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Joan Rahrer. Two sisters, Willette Taylor Phillips and Elizabeth Taylor Fox. Mrs. Rahrer was a member of Brentwood United Methodist Church, Red Hatters, the UMW of Brentwood and received the Rotary Paul Harris Fellowship. She was a 1952 graduate of Cone High School in Nashville, TN.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Gilbert Funeral Home in Portland, TN. Burial of her ashes will follow at Mt. Vernon Church Cemetery in Bethpage, TN. Visitation will be held Saturday from 12:00 PM until service time at Gilbert Funeral Home.
