Obituary
Levoys “Lee” Leger Venable, born on February 12, 1929, passed peacefully at age 90 in Colorado, on January 28, 2020. She will be returning to Texas to rest beside her loving husband Roosevelt Joseph Venable, who passed in 2011, at Houston National Cemetery.

Levoys is the daughter of Ferroil Leger and Emetile Duplechan Leger. She was lovingly referred to as Lee, Mom, and Mawmaw. She was born in Louisiana and moved to Port Arthur, Texas in 1954 with her husband R.J.. Lee and R.J. moved to Spring, Texas after his retirement from the Port Arthur Police Department. After R.J. passed, Lee stayed in their home in Spring for about 4 and half years nearest her daughter Gale, then moved to Colorado near her daughter Fay for the past 4 years.

Lee loved nursing and proudly graduated nursing school. Lee also loved gardening, sewing, playing cards, dominoes and most of all her family.

Lee had four siblings, Leroy Joseph Leger (1924-1997), Eurarice ”Tee” Leger Foret (1926-1998) and Mercedes “Mercy” Gralino Leger Monaco (1933-2011). Lee is survived by her youngest brother, Lenray James Leger.

Lee is survived by her two daughters, Gale Venable Doerfler and her husband Mark Doerfler; and Fay Venable Podsobinski and her husband George Podsobinski.
She is the Grandmother to Stacy Malagarie, Ryan Malagarie, Heather Cook and Jeffery Tharp.
She is the Great-Grandmother to Dylan Hardin, Kodi Hardin, Garrette Hammond, Kayleigh Lute, Sadie Malagarie and Sofia Tharp.
Lee was also blessed to be the Great-Great-Grandmother to Samuel “Sammy” Hardin, Allen “A.J.” Durhan, Grayson Hardin and Annalee Hardin.
Lee is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Lee will be missed by all that knew and loved her. She had a wonderful long life surrounded with people that adored her. She will watch over all of us for the rest of our lives as our guardian angel.
