Dewey Clifton Crosslin, 87, of Manchester, passed away July 11th, 2012 at Harton Regional Medical Center after long illness. Born in Coffee County on October 20th, 1924, he was the son of the late Thurman and Pearl Butler Crosslin. He retired from Goodrich (formerly Cleveland Pneumatic) in Tullahoma and retired after 27 years service. He was a member of local 6817 of the United Steel Workers of America.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mamie Ann Nowlin Crosslin; two daughters, Jo Anne Crosslin Cisneros and her husband Ed of Virginia and Phyllis Crosslin of Manchester; one grandson, Joel Cisneros and his wife Kirsten of Virginia; one great-granddaughter, Olivia Cisneros of Virginia; one sister, Bobbie Carden and her husband Winfred “Wimpy” of Manchester; one brother, Norman Crosslin of Ohio; and many nephews, nieces, friends, and neighbors.
Mr. Crosslin is preceded in death by one brother, Howard Crosslin; and five sisters, Nellie Davis, Mabel Mason, Alene Bush, Evelyn Burks, and Hazel Crosslin.
He will be remembered as a dedicated family man who entertained family and friends alike with his humor. He loved to fish, hunt, and raise cattle.
Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00-8:00pm on Saturday, July 14th, 2012 at Kilgore Funeral Home, where services will be conducted in the Chapel at 2:00pm on Sunday, July 15th, 2012 with Bro. Charles Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the New Redden's Cemetery.
