Gerald Grandshaw [sic] Pingree
Gerald Grandshaw [sic] Pingree, a Southwest Portland resident, died Monday in a Portland care center of complications arising from a stroke. At his request, no service will be held.
He was born May 13, 1910, in Ogden, Utah. He had lived in Portland since 1929. Mr. Pingree worked as a caterer for many years and managed the restaurant at the Washington Square Lipman-Wolfe store until his retirement in 1979. He had done volunteer work for the SCORE program for seven years and was a past president of the Boston Terrier Club of Portland. He was a charter member of the East Portland Rotary Club.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille; daughter, Sally Huff of Gresham; son, Phillip of Austin, Texas; brothers, William of Salt Lake City and Donald of Kennewick, Wash.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Interment will be in Riverview Abbey Mausoleum.
The family suggests remembrances be contributions to Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children.
