Obituary:

Carol Rey Daniels, 73, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on the evening of December 8th after a medical emergency. It landed her in the hospital since August 11th, 2019. She had a strong will to live and fought valiantly to recover everyday with the support of her family and friends.

She was born in Artesia, New Mexico, the daughter of Lawrence E. Ball and Luna E. Ball on January 26th, 1946. Along with her brothers David and Larry, she grew up in a military family, allowing her the opportunity to travel and live in France as a child.

She was ferociously independent, known for her sarcasm and quick wit; and she was not afraid to fight for what she believed was right. In spite of having RA for many years, she continued her passion of gardening and hummingbirds. Known for her famous Green Chili Enchiladas and Snickerdoodles, she was an avid reader who enjoyed collecting carnival glass and antiques. She constantly thought of others before herself and had a huge heart for her family.

Carol retired with the State of New Mexico, State and Revenue Department as a Tax Examiner. Also, she was a real estate investor, owning and managing properties. She and her late husband Randy often enjoyed the mountains, camping and fishing together. Their special place was at
Vallecito Lake in Colorado, where Randy lays to rest.

She is survived by her three children, Karen Billingsley with husband Kevin of Gig Harbor, WA, DeDee Stump with husband Chuck of Highlands Ranch, CO, along with Derek Brown and Adam Dyes of Federal Way, WA., her older brother David E. Ball and his wife Paulette of Surprise, AZ. She was also blessed with two grandchildren, Raegan and Catherine Stump. She was preceded in death by her late husband Randall Royce Daniels ( May 1st, 1998) and her brother Larry Dale Ball (November 6th, 2003).
