Mr. G.W. Myers, aged 73 years, died t the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Whaley, in Millersburg, yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock, after an illness of months with stomach trouble.

Mr. Myers was born in Bath County, where he engaged in farming and stock-raising until he moved to this city seventeen years ago.

Since living here he has been engaged in the grocery business and other pursuits until his health failed several years ago, which forced him to retire to private life.

He was successful in business and was a man of the highest integrity.

He was a kind and devoted husband and an affectionate father.

A few months ago he and his wife moved from their home on Mr. Airy to live with their daughter, Mrs. Whaley, in Millersburg.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nannie Myers, and four daughters; Mrs. A.T. Forsyth, of this city; Mrs. Mary Whaley, of Millersburg; Mrs. Lucy Black and Mrs. Ida M. Desha of Greencastle, Ind.

Funeral services will be held this (Tuesday) afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Millersburg Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. B.C. Horton.

Burial in Millersburg Cemetery.

He was born in Bath County on May 15, 1833, and was married Nancy Whaley Nov. 1, 1851. Lived near this town until 17 years ago when he moved to Paris.

When his health failed, he and wife moved to Millersburg to live with their daughter.

Survived by four daughters: Mrs. A.T. Forsyth of Paris; Mrs. Mary J. Whaley of Millersburg; Mrs. Lucy Black and Mrs. Ida Desha of Greencastle, Ind.

Buried from Millersburg Methodist Church Tuesday with burial at Millersburg Cemetery.
