"At present considerable excitement prevails in Riley on account of diptheria. Two deaths have occured within the last ten days. Mrs. Love Argabright's little boy, aged about 5 years, and Robert Gorsuch's little boy aged about seven years, both died. The board of health have quarantined all that have been exposed and are using every means to suppress the disease before it spreads further."

Died, of diphtheria, Alfred, little son of Mrs. Argabright. The remains were laid to rest in the Patrick cemetery. "Sleep on, dear Alfred, and take thy rest, God called thee home, and thought it best."
