James Berry Coats, age 85, of Terrell, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2020. James was born October 21, 1934 in Non, Oklahoma to parents Harve Coats and Clara (Purser) Coats.

James is preceded in death by his parents, wife of 62 years, Lena Faye Coats, three brothers: Wayne Coats, Wendell Coats, Carl Coats and sister Reba Coats. He is survived by his children: Becky Pennington and husband Terry of Terrell, TX, Gerry Wayne Coats of Terrell, TX, Carolyn Zello and husband Paul of Wills Point, TX,; 7 grandchildren: Christina, Michael, Tiffany, Kevin, Savannah, Ryan, Joshua; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister Glenda Newton of Clinton, Oklahoma and a host of other family and beloved friends who will miss him greatly.

James served in the military for 6 years and after that he retired from the union. He was a devoted husband, father & grandpa. He was loved & respected by anyone that knew him.
