Mrs. Ida Dell Jones, life-long resident of Utica, died at 11:15 a.m. Monday in her home in North Central Avenue following a six weeks illness. The daughter of William S. and Minerva (Wheeler) Warthen, she was born here and would have observed her 77th birthday anniversary Nov. 13. Her husband, Allen Jones, who was night marshal of Utica for many years died five years ago this month. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are four sons and a daughter, Creed Jones of Shelby, Kenneth Jones of Columbus, Sheldon Jones of Worthington, Leslie Jones of Canton and Mrs. Homer Fouts of Newark. Also five brothers, Creed, Charles, Cleve, Roll and Serle Warthen all of Utica and vicinity, and a sister, Mrs. Charles Boggs of Columbus and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday by the Rev. W.M. Lockard at the C.C. Law & Sons funeral home. Burial will be made in the Bell Church Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
