Florence was the youngest child of John Watson Reynolds and Susie Martha Tibbs Reynolds whom she loved dearly. Ancestry.com shows a younger brother in the 1930 census but this is a nephew not a brother.

Florence is remembered as a penecostal reverend/minister and for her sermons in Coles County Illinois along with Hollywood, Gainsville and Ocala, Florida. She was also responsible for giving sermons/eulogies at funerals she attended for family in her hometown of Oakland, Illinois. I didn't know she could talk that loud.

She was her high school's choir manager per a photo in ancestry.com. Both Norval and Guy Swinford are part of same choir per the yearbook photo. Florence shows as a 1932 graduate per a 1983 Oakland, Illinois sesquennial book.

She married Guy Swinford in 1933. Guy's buried in Rosedale/Oakland, illinois; unfortunately Guy had passed away when he was only 25 years old of an ailment going around at that time (probably TB). Florence and Guy had a little girl named Guyla who eventually had two girls of her own. Florence moved in with her parents after her husband, Guy, had passed away per the census. Florence later married Guy's youngest brother, Norval; she and Norval Pierce Swinford raised Guyla as their child and did not have any children of their own.

Florence and Norval drove a light green Cadallic during our stay in Florida in 1982. My 1st plane ride! I recall that part of of the state had a lot of horse farms. I remember the park we went to. I still have photos and post cards from our visit to Silvernail Park.

Florence had an older sister named Eliza Wheeler (Dwight); she is also blessed having 4 brothers: Joe (Ethel Garver), Donald (Edna Childress), Harold "Fritz" (never married) and Oscar (Lucille Kline Dean/Bernice Reynolds).

Florence is my dad's younger sister. Norval is the 2nd youngest Swinford but the youngest boy; Geneva Doris Swinford Merchant is the youngest Swinford. Geneva kept in touch with both Florence and Norval especially in their older years.

In addition to Florence's daughter, Guyla May, she had granddaughters, Florence's present husband is Norval. She also had nieces and nephews, on the Reynolds and Swinford sides.

A photo I had taken when my dad visited her and her husband, Norval, in Florida is the 1st one above.

The 2nd photo is of her husband, Norval Swinford, and niece, Sherry Reynolds with her in sister Eliza's front lawn in Oakland IL.

The third photo is a school photo with her brother, Oscar, holding cap and Florence is in the front row with blonde hair and no shoes with light dress.
