Mrs. Durden was a native of Warrenton and had made her home in Milledgeville. She was the daughter of the late Robert "Bob" Ezra and Iris Edenfield Abbot and was preceded in death by a sister, Margel Barton. She had worked at Central State Hospital for a number of years and also Oconee Resa. She was a member of the Writers Club and Tabernacle of Praise.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Durden of Milledgeville; children, Charlie Mimbs of Savannah, Tony Mimbs (Teresa) of Warrenton, Beth Fezio (John) of Norris, SC, and Troy Mimbs (Eleanor) of Chattanooga, TN; grandchildren, Jeffrey Mimbs, Monica Mimbs, Tiffany Anderson, T.J. Mimbs, Justin Davey, Hannah Mimbs, and Rebecca Lavender; great grandchildren, Iris Abbott Anderson, Hamilton "Ham" Anderson, Kalem Davey, and Arick Davey; brothers, Terry Abbott of Sandersville, and David Abbott of AL; and a number of nieces and nephews.
