Funeral services for Lawrence White, a transient found slain off Highway 9 on Oct. 13, will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Wessendorf and Holmes Chapel, 223 Church St. Interment will be in Oakwood Memorial Park.
Authorities have been unable to locate any relatives nor suspects in the slaying. White, a native of Oklahoma, was 55 years old.

Mullin stopped, pretending to have car trouble. When White stopped and offered to help Mullin struck him down after tricking him into looking at the car engine. Mullin later claimed that White was Jonah from the Bible, and that he had sent Mullin a telepathic message saying, "Pick me up and throw me over the boat. Kill me so that others will be saved."
