The daughter of Joseph N. and Johanna (nee Howle) Young, she was born at Giesboro Manor (where Bolling Air Force base is today) . At her death she was survived by her husband James F. Duhamel, her son LTC Notley Y. Duhamel, U.S.A.; two daughters, Mrs. Joan H. Newgarden, Jr., and Mrs. Lola Lamar Burton; two sisters, Mrs. I. S. K. Reeves and Miss Sarah T. Young of Washington; and a brother, George W. Young, of Milwaukee, WI.
