She was the daughter of Silas Abe LeFevre and Martha J James LeFevre who were the parents of the gospel singing group, The LeFevre Trio (later known as the LeFevre's) that traveled around all over the country singing about their Jesus.

Her two brothers, Urias and Alphus and Maude were The LeFevre Trio, until Maude got married. Then another sister sang with the two brothers until she married and then Urias' wife Eva Mae Whittington became their piano player and alto singer.
