Four brothers: Omar Ali Wanton of New York, NY, Rashid Sharif of New York, NY, Eugene Marshall of Raleigh, NC and Stanley and wife Sophia Marshall of Capital Heights, MD, and mother-in-law, Mary and husband Lewis Kendrick of Hempstead, NY. Additional survivors include his extended family: Melissa Ramsey of Winston Salem, NC; Eric and wife Sondra Scales of Winston Salem, NC; Ray and wife Kim Scales of Winston Salem, NC; nephews: Justice & Jumel Lloyd of Brooklyn, NY, Rodney Mullins Jr. of Bronx, NY; Nieces: Nykara Lloyd of Bronx, NY and Princess Serenity "Tink" Scales and his god-daughter Princess Morgan Grant.
In addition to his biological mother, Renee Bernice Harris-Wanton, Amar was preceded in death by a sister Catherine Davis.
