Mr. Amar Wanton, age 45 of Raleigh, NC passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 22, 2019, at his home. Amar, as was affectionately known, never met a stranger and was an avid motorcycle rider and enthusiast. Amar was an adventurist who loved to travel, fish and seized every opportunity possible to mentor the younger generation.
October 12, 2013, during the Autumn Leaves Festival, Rhonda Flippen filled Amar's heart with joy by agreeing to become his wife. A year later, during a beautiful double-ring ceremony, Amar and Rhonda publicly expressed their love for each another and officially became Mr. and Mrs. Amar Wanton. From that day until he was called to rest, Amar and Rhonda proudly acknowledged their love for one another and Amar would quickly say "Bro, I couldn't let her get away she's the best thing to ever happen to me". To Amar, the sun rose and set on his beautiful Rhonda and beside her, there is no other,
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Rhonda Flippen Wanton of the home, a daughter by marriage Nadja Shevers of Long Island, NY; his father & wife, Muhammad & Patricia Sharif of New York, NY, and foster mother Ms. Jospehine Carter of King, NC. Three sisters: April and husband Azaar Carter of Baltimore, MD, Tywana Sharper of New York, NY and Tiffany Williams of Bronx, NY. Four brothers: Omar Ali Wanton of New York, NY, Rashid Sharif of New York, NY, Eugene Marshall of Raleigh, NC and Stanley and wife Sophia Marshall of Capital Heights, MD, and mother-in-law, Mary and husband Lewis Kendrick of Hempstead, NY. Additional survivors include his extended family: Melissa Ramsey of Winston Salem, NC; Eric and wife Sondra Scales of Winston Salem, NC; Ray and wife Kim Scales of Winston Salem, NC; nephews: Justice & Jumel Lloyd of Brooklyn, NY, Rodney Mullins Jr. of Bronx, NY; Nieces: Nykara Lloyd of Bronx, NY and Princess Serenity "Tink" Scales and his god-daughter Princess Morgan Grant.
