Jesse is a son of Thomas Minson and Catherine Ward. He married Lurline Lilla Long in Paris, Idaho on January 13, 1915. Jesse was a mill foreman at the Magna Mill. Jesse and Lurline became parents to two children: Ruth and John Raleigh. The two children were raised by relatives after their parents' deaths in the influenza epidemic.

Lurline Lilla Minson, 25 years old, wife of Jesse W. Minson, died at Garfield, November 28. Jesse W. Minson, her husband, 28 years of age, died a few hours later. Their bodies will be sent to Paris, Idaho.
