Robert “Bob” Minnick, age 80, of Iberia, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020, at his home. He was born in Brighton, Colorado, on January 7, 1939, son of the late Frank and Lucy (Waggoner) Minnick. On September 23, 1960, at Waynesville First Baptist Church, Bob married Janet “Jan” Hough, who survives at their home.

Bob had a successful career in the banking industry beginning his profession at Waynesville Security Bank and later Bank of Iberia for 25 years.

Bob was a member of several organizations including the Iberia Lions Club, Iberia Masonic Lodge #410, Elks, Scottish Rites, Shriners, and the National Guard. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, barbecuing and attending his grandchildren’s school and sporting events. Bob loved traveling, especially to the ocean where he enjoyed relaxing on the beach.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He especially cherished the time he spent with his grandsons and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his loving wife of 59 years, Jan Minnick, he is also survived by two sons, Todd Minnick and wife Val and Troy Minnick and wife Kim both of Iberia; four grandsons, Garth Minnick (Cassandra), Isaac Minnick, Derrick Minnick (Chelsea), and Ethan Minnick (Morgan); four great-grandchildren, Jayden, Trenton, Cadence, and Callie; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his infant brother, Ronald; and four siblings, Loweta Hicks, Juanita Minniear, Doris Whitaker, and Helen Keeling.

Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8, at Fancher-Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia with Bro. William Thompson officiating. Interment will be held at Iberia Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, at the funeral home.
