Doris L. Whitaker, age 84, of Brady, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 in Brady, Texas.
She was born October 8, 1930 in Jefferson, Iowa to Frank Minnick and Lucy E. (Waggoner) Minnick.
She married Billy Whitaker on February 2, 1992 in Springfield, MO. She was the office manager for a doctor's office for several years. She has lived in Brady for seven years, moving here from Nixa, MO. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Brady and she enjoyed playing bridge and dominos.
Doris Whitaker's family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Leatherwood Memorial Chapels in Brady.
No services are scheduled at this time. Interment of the cremated remains will be at Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, MO at a later date.
Doris Whitaker is survived by her husband Billy Whitaker of Brady, TX; son Jeff Vaughn and wife Terry of Kansas City, KS; daughter Linda Aaron and husband Curtis of Springfield, MO; step-sons Kenneth Whitaker and wife Lynn of Bloomfield, NM, David Whitaker and wife Denise of Bloomfield, NM, Darrell Whitaker of Greenfield, MO, Martin Whitaker of Grand Prairie, TX; step-daughter Nila Whitaker of Odessa, TX; brother Robert Minnick and wife Janet of Iberia, MO and grandchildren Keegan Jones and wife Audra and Darcy Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Tony Vaughn and 3 sisters.
