Ella Lucile Pierce Shepherd, age 85, of Springville (previously of Levan) passed away Jan. 5, 2000 at Mountain View Hospital in Payson, Utah.
She was born March 16, 1914, in Gunnison, Utah, to Orson Harvey and Mary Taysom Pierce. She married Rulon J. Shepherd Dec. 26, 1931. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple May 11, 1963. He died March 27, 1985.
She was a member of the LDS Church and served in the Primary, Relief Society, Ward Library, and as a Visiting Teacher. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She is survived by children, Sheril (Quma) Shepherd of Levan, James (Mary Lou) Shepherd of Prichard, Idaho, Gary (Colleen) Shepherd of Taylorsville, Don J. Shepherd of Springville, and Mary Louise (James) Paystrup of Springville; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Pearl Ault of American Fork, Faye Allred of Nephi, and Leatrice (John) Sandor of Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by a son Melvin and 6 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Jan. 8, 2000 in the Levan LDS Chapel. Burial in the Levan Cemetery.
