Obituary:
BRONTE - Powell Aubrey Roberts, 73, died at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday in Veterans Hospital in Big Spring. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church here with the Rev. Harry Morris, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery near Robert Lee under the direction of Williams Funeral Home. Born Jan. 15, 1895 in Walker County, Ala., he came to Coke County in 1906, and had lived in Robert Lee and Bronte since that time. He has been a farmer most of his life and was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Christine Murtishaw of Bronte and Mrs. Edna Jean Featherslon of Jal, N.M.; three sons, William A. of Flagstaff, Ariz., Carroll Jack of Oakland, Calif., and Weldon Wayne of Jal, N.M., nine grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother, A.M. of Angelo; two sisters, Mrs. Telisa Ligon of Goldthwaite and Mrs. Ethel Cook of Harper.
