ABBOTT, Ernest W.
(Age 85) - passed away Tuesday, October
18, 2005 at home in Spokane, WA. He was
born February 9, 1920 at Harrington, WA.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years,
Mary; one son and daughter-in-law Paul
and Deb Abbott of Kuna, ID; three sisters,
Lillian Janson of Deer Park, WA, Virginia
Gjelvik of Spokane Valley, WA and Irene
and husband Harry Charboneau of Spring-
dale, WA; one brother and sister-in-law,
Howard and Verabel Abbott of Spokane
Valley; numerous nieces, nephews and
cousins.

Ernie retired from Great Northern/
Burlington Northern Railroad with 42
years of service as a blacksmith.

He was a World War II veteran, a Life
Member of V.F.W. Post #1474 and a Golden
Age member of Spokane Eagles Aerie #2.

Ernie was an avid hunter and fisherman
- he especially enjoyed fishing for
cutthroat on Pend Oreille Lake. He kept
an immaculate yard and garden and loved
to raise his prized tomatoes.

We are honoring Mr. Abbott's wishes that
he be cremated. A Memorial Service will
be held on Saturday, October 22, 2005 at
10:00 am at Heritage Funeral Chapel.

The Family would like to extend our
thanks to everyone at Hospice of Spokane
and Cancer Care Northwest for their
loving care. In lieu of flowers the
family requests that you make a donation
to Cancer Care Northwest or Hospice of
Spokane in Ernie's name.
