"YORKVILLE --- Mr. Joseph A. Ayoub Sr., 72, of 3 Douglas Ave., Yorkville, entered into rest January 27, 1989 in St. Elizabeth's Hospital. He was born on July 4, 1916, in Utica, a son of the late Abraham and Mary Ferris Ayoub. He was educated in local schools. On April 5, 1945 he was married to Martha Chrisman. She passed away on August 5, 1985. Mr. Ayoub served our country during WW II in the U.S. Army. He was a self-emp0loyed truck driver, retiring in 1961. He was a member of the Teamsters Union Local #182 and was an avid bowler in the Utica area. He was a parishioner of St. George's Orthodox Church. He is survived by one son, Joseph A. Ayoub, Jr., with whom he resided; one brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Fanny Ayoub of Utica; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Zifa and Anthony Ficarra, of Utica, Nellie Jacobs, of Utica, and Anne Custance, of CT; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one brother, Ted Ayoub, and one sister, Rose Haddad. The funeral will be Monday at 9:15 from The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc., 1122 Culver Ave., and at 10 a.m. in St. George's Orthodox Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Rev. Father Nicholas Habib. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday, 2-4 and 7-9, at The Scala & Roefaro Funeral Home, Inc., 1122 CULVER AVE."
