Gayle D. Blackwood was a daughter of William L and Almeda E. Blackwood. Her siblings included sisters Willie C., Mettie E., Loly G., Mable M., Verne L. and Flora and one brother John B. Blackwood. Gayle was recorded in the 1900 Census as Gay D born Feb. 1891.

Rites Set Friday for Mrs. Gayle Boling, 58


Funeral services for Gayle Blackwood Boling, 58, of Vallonia, will be conducted at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon from the home and at 2 o'clock from the Vallonia Christian Church. Burial in the Vallonia Cemetery.

Mrs. Boling died early Wednesday morning at the Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, where she had been taken for treatment. She had been ill for the past year.

Mrs. Boling was born in Driftwood township on February 22, 1890. She was first married to William Duncan and later Earl Boling, who survives. She was a member of the Christian Church.

Besides the husband, she is survived by three sons, Norman Duncan, of Vallonia; Olan Duncan, of Indianapolis and Melvin Duncan, of Morristown, O.; a half-brother, Ira Blackwood; four sisters, Mrs. Willie Loudermilk, of ?orman [likely, Norman]; Mrs. Goldie Fleenor, Vallonia RR; Mrs. Mabel Jamison, ??doga [likely, Ladoga]; Mrs. Lucille Keller, Indianapolis; two half-sisters, Mrs. Laura Watts, of Medora; Mrs. Mae Davis, Flatrock and four grandchildren.
