Julia Ann Lark was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, November 1, 1866, a daughter of William Lark and Mary Clarkson Lark, who had accepted the Latter-day Saints' faith in England, immigrated to America, and crossed the plains with one of the original companies of pioneers.
She married Benoni Green August 5, 1885 in Woodland, Utah. They became parents to ten children: William Benoni, Lafayette, Ruby Claressa (Johnson), Robert LeRay, all of whom preceded her in death; Mary Floretta Edmiston and George Riley Green of Wilson, Alice Pearl Johnson of Ojai, California, Lark Edward Green of Ogden, Dallas Green and Mable Isabell Hatch of Vernal, Utah, all of whom survive.
She and Mr. Green moved their family to Jackson Hole in 1901, remaining here until 1907 when they returned to Vernal, Utah. At the time of Mr. Green's passing they were residing in Butte, Montana.
A few years later Mrs. Green married Nimrod Sweatfield, and they made their home in Vernal until he passed in 1933. since then she has lived with her children and was at Mrs. Edmiston's home when overtaken by the illness form which she never recovered. After a few days' illness she suffered a heart attack and was taken to St. John's hospital where she passed September 2. Burial was in Elliott Cemetery at Wilson.
She is survived by her six children, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Sweatfield was always interest in the events of the day and was always busy. She was a devoted mother and her family will long cherish her memory.
