Harlem Globetrotter 1929-34
Albert (Runt) Pullins, the last surviving member of the original 1929 Harlem Globetrotters basketball team, has died at the age of 74.

Mr. Pullins, who was born in Chicago, died in his South Side home early Saturday. He had been suffering from emphysema for the last three years.

Mr. Pullins was nicknamed Runt because at 5 feet 8 inches tall, he was the second shortest player when he joined the newly formed Globetrotters in 1929.

Mr. Pullins joined the Globetrotters after being approached by the team's founder, Abe Saperstein. At the time, he was attending Morris Brown University in Atlanta, Ga.

Mr. Pullins traveled with the Globetrotters from 1929 to 1934, when he formed the Harlem Clowns. He toured with the Clowns throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Far East until 1958.
