Edith Darene Merha, age 92, passed away on 1 Sep 2012 at Pacifica Senior Living Care, Riverside, CA. She was born on 22 Oct 1919 in Rock Rapids, iA and had lived in Riverside, CA for 44 years. She graduated from Pipestone High School on 1 Jun 1937, obtained a teaching certificate in 1937 and was a teacher at a rural school (grades 1-8) for 2 years in Pipestone, MN from 1938-1940.had received Periodic Attendance & Excellence Awards from school through retirement. She had been a Federal Civil Servant with the U. S. Navy and U. S. Air Force from 1953-1984.
She was a member of Norco Community Church, Riverside Bible Church.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband Phil Merha in 1970.
She is survived by her daughter Muriel Dodge of Poulsbo, WA, sons Alan9Sally) Merha of Riverside, CA and Ed Merha of Ridgecrest, CA, sister Clara Jans of Pipestone, MN, Bernece (Bernard) demuth of Edgerton, MN and sister-in-law Marilyn Boomgaarden of Dell Rapids, SD, caregiver Pacifica Senior Living staff of Riverside, CA, 8 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and their successive generations.
