03/01/1907 - Friday - Miss Sarah PLETCHER died at her home one half mile north west of Howard, on Friday, Feb 15, 1907 of acute indigestion. Deceased was 66 years 7 months and 2 days old. She was born and raised near Howard and spent her entire life in the old homestead caring for her mother until her death a number of years ago. Since that time she has kept house for her brother Emanuel PLETCHER who was left a widower with one child and went back to the old home; to which place three other brothers and one sister returned to spend their declining years, and unto them all Miss PLETCHER gave her gentlest and most untiring ministration. Her death was the fifth of the family to occur in the old home in a period of thirty years. Only one brother, Joseph PLETCHER, of Blanchard, and one sister, Mrs. Lou WETZLER, of Milesburg, survive. Miss PLETCHER was the last surviving member of the Mennonite Church, located near her old home and which at one time consisted of a large membership. The funeral was held on Sunday, Feb 17. The services were in charge of Rev. Aller, of the Methodist Church, interment in the Schencks Cemetery.

Death of Miss Sarah PLETCHER - Miss Sarah PLETCHER who has been a resident of the community the past 40 years died last Friday morning at her home very suddenly while sitting in her chair of heart trouble. She was a lady who had many friends, a good christian, one who always behaved it, living up to the golden rule and by her actions has made many friends who will be pained to hear of her death. She was aged 66y 5m and 9d. and is survived by one brother and sister, Mrs. Leah WETZLER and Milesburg and Joseph of Blanchard. The funeral took place on Sunday and was conducted biy Rev. E M ALLEN. Interment was made in the Schenck Cemetery.
