Mary was the daughter of James Patty (1772 - 1844) and Mary Cook Patty (1779 - 1850). Mary was a devout Quaker and moved with her family from South Carolina to Ohio because of religious persecution. In Butler County, Ohio she met and married Thomas Jervis on April 8, 1824. They migrated to Democrat Township in Carroll County, Indiana. They were the parents of Isaiah, Eliza Ann, James, Mary Jane, Delilah, Jesse, James and Cathryn Jervis. She passed away in 1873 in Carroll County, Indiana. Mary was survived by her husband, Thomas Jervis (DOB: 11/19/1796, DOD: 1892).
