He was born July 3, 1932 at Dwyer in the Mimbres Valley to Elena Dominguez and Eduardo Baca. He attended school up to the 8th grade at the local rural school. Ramon quickly began to work on the family farm and ranch and helping out at the area ranches. The ranching part was his favorite and breaking horses became an art for him. In 1952 he joined the Air Force and remained in California for several years after completing his military obligation. He married and raised his family of four boys in the Central Valley of California working the agriculture fields there. After several years he returned to New Mexico to the ranch where he was raised and wasn't long before he got involved with the local ranchers doing what he liked best, "cowpunching." "Rancher", "Cowboy" best describes him.

Ramon attended San Jose Catholic Church.

He is survived by four sons; Ray, Reginald, Ben & David all of California; 2 brothers Fernando (Buddy) & Sam Baca of Deming; several grandchildren and great-grand.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Nora; 2 brothers, Adan and Julian.
