Early Life: Wayne was born September 13, 1943, in Panguitch, Utah, Jesse Stephen and Lilith Porter Wilson, the eighth of their thirteen children.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: Wayne served a mission in Northern California for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from Brigham Young University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in civil engineering. It was at BYU that he met the love of his life, Wanda Sandra Fager. On August 24, 1968, they were married in the Manti Utah Temple. Wayne served his country in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1974, completing a tour of duty in Vietnam between 1970 and 1971. Then, he went on to a long and distinguished career with the Federal Bureau of Reclamation, retiring in 2003. He lived a life of dedicated service to others and while he never wanted recognition, was always the first to step up and help those in need. He set an example of love and selflessness that will serve as a lasting example to all who were privileged to know him. His strength, integrity and unwavering commitment to family will be deeply missed. Donald Wayne Wilson passed away peacefully Sunday night, December 15, 2019, in Draper, Utah, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was 76.
Survived By: His children: Sherrie (Brent) Schutz, UT; Jesse Wilson, WA; and Wendy (Ben) Wilson, WA; six grandchildren, eleven siblings, many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
Preceded In Death By: His wife, Wanda; son, Jeffery Scott Wilson; his parents; and his brother, Russell.
