Bio

As a child and adolescent I often accompanied my parents on their frequent trips to local cemeteries to gather information for genealogical records. Memorial Day was also a very special holiday for us. We would spend the day visiting the graves of those we love, learning more about family we hadn't had the blessing of knowing, and cleaning and decorating their final resting place. It was about family connections and honoring those who came before me. I was taught to respect these final resting places. I often wandered on my own, reading the headstones and wondering about the lives of the individuals whose names were etched in stone.

I participate with Find a Grave out of a deep respect for people and their stories. If I have created a memorial for someone you love, and you would like to maintain their memorial, please contact me and I will be happy to transfer their memorial to you. If I have created a memorial for someone you are closely related to and you would like it removed for privacy reasons, please reach out to me. I am not a memorial "collector" nor do I wish to invade privacy. I simply want to honor those who have left this earth and provide a place for others to remember them and make family connections.
