Funeral services for Manning A. Bowie, l6, who died Sunday night at the family residence, 68 Spring Street, Southern Worsted Mill, will be held from the Mountain Creek Baptist Church this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Prof. W. E. Sweatt will officiate and will be assisted by the Rev. C. H. Hamby. Interment will be made in the church cemetery. The following classmates of Mr. Bowie will serve as pallbearers Walter Rainey, Waddell Rainey, Brooks Piecy, DeWitt Lucas, Bennie Marie and Clyde Baity.
Young Mr. Bowie has spent most of his life in Greenville and has many friends in the community in which he lived. He was a member of the Round Hill Baptist Church of Union Mill, N. C., where he had been a student. Surviving are his father, Paul E. Bowie, one sister Mrs. Thelma Fox, Greenville, two brothers Paul Edward Bowie Jr. and Douglas Bowie of Atlanta, grandmother Mrs. George Maurice Girardeau, of Greenville.
